Topic #2 First Impressions of California
I almost did not know a single English word, so when I first came here, I feel everything is strange to me. I cannot answer the questions the immigrant officer asked . Fortunately, I have friends here, and they picked me to school. On the way to school, the sight likes countryside because no tall buildings are on both sides, but the sky is really blue. After one year stay, I know California often has earthquake; as a result, California has less tall building. Although I am familiar with Orange County, I still feel not comfortable for studying here. I believe my English will get better through several years’ studying. I may be love California.
Hi Homer. I'm a bit lucky that my mom sent me to study English a lot sine I was a kid, so I can understand English quite well. However, I rarely speak English in my country; as a result, I still nervous if I have to speak English with native speakers and always make mistakes a lot. Hence, I still have to improve my English a lot, and this is why I came to study at the ALP.
ReplyDeleteI had never experienced earthquake before I came to California, here, it happened three times. It really shocked me.
ReplyDeleteIt does take some time to adjust to a new country, so I am sure you will adjust well here in the States!
